So I bought the Sennheiser HD 558's and they really clamped on my head. Tried various remedies (e.g., stretching on pillows, etc.). Nothing worked. It was so uncomfortable that I returned them.
 
If anyone else has experienced this discomfort, what headphones did you move to that were more comfortable? I have a budget of about $150. I primarily use for gaming and plan to stick a modmic on them. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

That's strange, the HD558 are one of if not the most comfortable headphone I've had. They are a bit clampy out the box from what I remember but they loosen up with use. The HD598 clamps very little out of the box and has a bigger soundstage anyways, so you might wanna try that, HD598 is indeed the most comfortable headphone I've tried along with the MA900
