While the photo doesn’t do it justice, the finish is actually a very dark brown.
Finally, what I consider a genuinely classy looking TH900 now sits on my desk.

Does the finish have the flecks in it or is it more like laquered wood where the grain shows through?

Hah! Pride is a stretch, but satisfaction is definitely the vibe. I've always loved what the TH900 sound like, but I've always felt they look like a bit of a toy - the red flakes never did it for me. This is a much more attractive aesthetic, in my opinion.

I got mine from Addicted to Audio in Australia. I think AU got about 20 of the 280 units, with the lion’s share going to the USA (but I have no idea what retailers).

I’ve not see them for sale except for addicted audio. I’d really like to purchase a pair. Maybe I’ll bite the bullet as last I checked that site had them for sale. I’d just prefer to not pay for shipping across the globe as I’m in the middle of the US.
