I think LinkPro was referring more to the fact that Fostex will eventually discontinue the TH900 someday, because no headphone is made forever.

Dew et! The TH900 is definitely one of the most amazing headphones I've heard!

Dude I just bought the LCD 3 last week and a pile of Schiit should be on my door step very soon (preferably not in a bag, or set on fire). I have no idea what amps sound good with it and def. dont have even more funds to find out atm lol. So tempting though. I doubt their are tons of people playing those $2k headphones out of  $500 set up aka my bedside rig.

Perhaps you've come to the wrong neighborhood. Why don't you check this thread out?

IMO, the Burson Soloist and Schiit Mjolnir are the best amps to drive the LCD-3 in the sub-1K category.

I'm getting the Mjolnir, ordered it over a month ago, only thing holding it back is a back ordered gungnir. I'm not worried about amping LCD 3's thats alot easier for me to do Ive had Audeze's for a long time I have a good idea of what to look for in that respect. I'm talking about the TH 900, I don't know what amps/dacs are good yet. Plus if I did buy I wouldn't be able to complete the set up for a while. Priorities man.

Although I've listened to it only a couple times with the TH900, Yamamoto Soundcraft's HA-02 was one of the few tube headphone amps that sounded exceptional. I wonder how the new HA-03 would perform with the TH900.

Price is said to be 128,000 yen, or about $1,400.

Indeed, compare to the internal amp from HP-A8, I like the HA-02 more for TH900, it's just adding the magical lush to vocal that very very sweet for female voice.

HA-03 looks promising!

Two years ago I bought Monster Beats Studio headphones. At that time I thought they sound good. (!) Today I listened to them for the first time again after I got my TH900. I did a comparison (for fun) where I used the same track and the HP-P1. The difference was absolutely mindblowing! Of course I knew that before I did the test. But I wasn't prepared for just how big the difference was. Next time someone want to test my headphones I will ask them to listen to the Beats headphones first. Just for laughs.

PS. I blame temporary insanity for buying Beats in the first place. Or maybe I was drunk.

No reason to blame insanity for buying the Beats, 90% of the population aren't looking to go very high end.I liken it to buying your meat at a grocery store , or going to a butcher for grain fed aged beef

Look what arrived today:

So far, I'm very impressed with them. And from what I remember from my audition late last year, they are very seductive headphones indeed.

Where's the download link ?
Must be a nice track to listen with th900 :D
Btw MT I thought u'r gonna replace 009 with 900 but it seems like just speaker for now ?

I don't have 2k to spend in headphones right now. What with TTVJ robbing me blind via that LP sale and all.

I'm going to wait until March for the Texas meet to pick a can. I'll have more than enough choices then to choose from.

A bit curious... Why do you need more headphones when you already have SR009, LCD-3, HD800, ...?

Fair enough but I doubt you can resist this beauty for long

Crazy... I thought that there is no way back when you have SR009! Wonder why Macedonian don't want to spend on HE-90 instead...

Wish I could afford a fraction of what he has, the LCD-3... That would be endgame for me!
