I am an Apple fanboy so, No. I have not tried it. I do know it was designed as an Apple focused product but people are finding ways around that stuff these days. All I could recommend is keep asking or get your hands on one to demo and see how it goes. It is a sweet portable for sure.

I don't think it can be.
I have a question. Has anyone gotten theirs refurbished? I have contacted Fostex directly, and their dealers in the U.S. And they did not respond. It's been a couple years. Mine has the old firmware and desperately needs a new battery.

To my knowledge it is made specifically for Apple products like the Ipod classic, iPhone, and iPad.

HP-P1 is a DAC / Amp for Apple iPods but you could use the HP-V1 amp with a CD.

Is it normal for the volume knob on these to be not quite straight?
