Nice price for that thing - I suppose it's on sale-out. Same happened over here a while ago, with both the Reference 300 and 500 series. The Reference 300 series has already reappeared in a Mk II version in the meantime - but unfortunately there seems to be no replacement for the 500 series (yet).

Greetings from Hannover!

TEAC is no longer listing the Reference 300 or 500 series on its US website. I did see the Reference 300 Mark II series on the UK website though.

I think this is a great price....considering what's available out there.

Ooh, neat. I'll pick one of those up. I've been looking into some efficient bookshelf speakers and I think this would hit the spot for them.

Now to find an active subwoofer worth buying at under $400.

Dayton Audio subwoofers for less than $200 take the cake.

For $400 you should most likely get either a hsu sub, hopefully used, or a dayton kit, not the dayton audio sub for <$200.

Under $200, eh? Got a link? I'd love to save money on them, heh.

My price ceiling is tentatively $400 and I'll take that into account, but if I can save cash I will. This isn't for critical listening applications, just minimizing my adequate speaker audio system for a better fit in my dorm room.
