From the condition of the cord in the photograph, all kinked up, I'd guess that they are used.

Glad I caught the ecost sale instead

they look like the refurbished ones, since they only come with the bag. if they were new i think they would have a box too

For those that missed the V6's sale, consider taking a look at eCost's newest deal, the Sony CD780's for $31.99. 53 left.

What would these have sold for, brand-new? Look like nice cans. The ad says "refurbished" but what does that mean?

$199.99 list. $100-$125 retail.

For the heck of it, I pretended to order these headphones (they ship to Canada!) and the total cost is about $75 CDN. Not too bad, but what about this refurbishment thing? I'm almost tempted to get them, anyway......

Don't know. They may be returns from stores never opened. They could be defective and inspected and repaired by Sony. Doubt we're going to get an answer on that one.

What the heck, I went ahead and ordered these. For $45 USD or so (shipping and taxes), this seems too good to pass up......

I don't need a set of V6's. Nice, but that 10-foot coiled cord will short out after a few years...I think these CD780's are almost as good, maybe better.

Are you kidding? As I understand it, there are V6's still in use after 10-15 years, and as good as ever.
