the MAIN ATTRACTION to foobar is because of columns ui

The main reason I switched was because of the Unicode support

those two pretty much sum it up for me as well.

I like organizing my own playlists in directory format using .m3u files, and regular folder structures -- I don't like a program doing this kind of thing for me.

I am also on the same boat - precisely the same reason why i infinitely prefer iriver's interface to i-pod's and to other players' for that matter - i organize everything by folders. but with the aid of columns_UI, foobar only helps me organize my files better, as it does not try to forcefully sort files according to the tag information.

From what I have seen so far, the main turnoff for those who write foobar off is the interface. To me tho, the interface is the very reason i would not go back to winamp unless they can make it look as neat as foobar. If winamp can make my playlist look like this , then I might take another look at winamp.

- REPLAY GAIN

to my knowldge, winamp also has an equivalent plugin except it changes the actual file unlike the replaygain due to winamp's lack of database feature. replaygain makes much more sense to me.
