I have enabled/disabled this mode for about 5 times now and i can't hear any difference in sound.... only notible diff is increase CPU usage

so what exactly does slow mode do????

Slow mode takes chunks of the music and resamples as opposed to as it goes If I understand correctly.

Upsampling slightly degrades sound quality, but may end up actually sounding better because the sound card will be receiving data at the native frequency of the DAC (e.g. 96 KHz). Or there may be no audible difference at all, as you noticed.
