This is a bit of a crossover question from another thread in the high end audio forum regarding preamps.
I've recently read this old thread regarding foobar's volume control function specifically in relation to its quality.
http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f46/do...-sound-100344/
So the question is, is this true is all the volume processing happening at 64bit and then processed into the relevant output setting configured in foobar's preferences prior to output to either dac or sound card?
If this is true is this better than a high end audio attenuator and therefore a better option than using a volume pot on an amp?
