"Folk Rock"

Maybe it's more Psychedelic thank Folk rock but

Fat Mattresses,

it's Jimi Hendrix's bass player Noel Redding on Lead guitars! Pretty awesome stuff [the bassist for Noel Groups is a better bass player than him to ;3]

Ooh I just remembered another good band

Octoberman... although they might be more "indie" than folk <.<

+1 on Ray Lamontagne - to me he is the very best - blows Dylan out of the water.
+1 Mumford and Sons
+1 Angus and Julie Stone

dont know if i would call him "rock"  but Joe Purdy is also a phenomenal not so well known Folk artist.

All great bands thus far; if anyone is interested in more of a hard rock take on the genre blackbird raum could be worth your time.
Just incase someone checks them out and hates them i'll +1 to bon iver to keep this relevant
