Ok…..so I own the Focal Utopias for years now! I’ve heard the Stax SR-009’s more than a few times….I prefer the Utopias for a few reasons. They need a very nice amp, but not an electrostatic amp. I think they’re on par with the Stax, only difference to me is sounding cold and not energetic! The Focal’s imho have the same detail retrieval as the SR-009’s, and the utopias to me anyways have a very fast response time! But what’s everyone’s thoughts who have heard both??

I should also add that I’m using the Woo Audio WA6 with GammaTron 12SN7GT power/driver tubes and a Takatsuki TA-274B with Silver Reference RCA’s from Luminous Audio, among other upgrades.

Ok. Listened to Moby’s song “thousand” and the utopias kept up with no issues!!! Just amazing!!! Must say!!!
