High there guys

I have a quick questions for you

I am in the market for some new floorstanding speakers for my living room.

I will be mostly using them to listen to music and occasionally whenI want the full cinema feel, for some films.

I have a small panasonic SCDP1, it plays both CD's DVD's can display JPEG's etc etc

It runs some small speakers which although the quality is good they arent filling my room.

What speakers do ou suggest I have a buget of £200-250 approx $400

They will need to be easy to drive 6-8 ohms and be bi-wireable, needs good bass but not good shaking stuff, as I live in a flat, and good clarity and detail.

I have looked at Tannoy Fusion 3, Mission 34e, amongst others

Any of your views will be grealty recieved.

Cheers

Have you considered KEF? For your price range, I think they make a floorstanding speaker that would be perfect for your needs. I have listened to them alot and I have to admit that I am always suprised at how well they do compared to others at a higher price.

KEF Cresta 30's I have looked at, and my mate has them too good speakers

BUT

Have I have researched some other floorstanders that I believe might be good for my needs too

They include

Acoustic Energy Aegis Evo 3
Wharfdale Diamond 8.3
Mission m34

All within price range..... what have you heard about these ??????

I am leaning towards the AE Evo 3's

They have great reviews in magazines and on the net

I will need to demo them all or create a smaller shortlist

Any others that I am missing out on

Cheers guys

What amp are you using? The AE Evos are easier to drive so you can use a 40w amp and still get good sound. The Wharfedales are less sensitive so you will need more power to get the same sound levels as the AE.

Thanks for the info guys, I am thinking of trying to hook these up to my mini system as a termporary set up, which have a 50 w p c amp

I will then be buying a Cambridge Audio A5

I have to save up for a flat first so slightly strapped for cash

Just researching for the perfect bachelor pad system

Many thanks again

W
