Hey,

My friend is looking for an idea for a new player..

He would like it to be Flash based only [not HDD], at least 8gb, it needs to be as small and as sturdy as possible [as its going to be mostly used in campings etc] - He doesn't care much for other functions other than MP3 playability, long battery life and sq, support in stuff like protected WMV aren't really needed but is a nice bonus [also FLAC support... not really a must]

Oh, We've thought about this one: Creative ZEN 2.5" Black 8GB MP4 Player [although its an mp4 player, it answeres most of hes needs on the paper, but we don't really know how well this thing functions]

I bought the Cowon D2 because of flac/ogg support and I could add SD cards.

Nano 8gb if he wants easy to use and uses iTunes. iTouch 16gb if he wants to go crazy and SURE he has enough space (since you said atleast 8gb).

Cowon D2 because of SQ and ability to add SD cards to further expand memory...but that could get pricey and be hassle-some at times shuffling through SD cards....

x2 on the sony a818, plus the deal on amazon is great. Certainly one of the best in this area regarding sq.
