Has anyone done this? I can't figure out how to make this work. FLAC plays fine on receiver from USB plugged in, but will not play via Yamaha's AV controller app from computer or from Android phone. Files play fine on computer or on phone, but just not over the Yamaha app >> receiver. Non-flac files play fine over app. 

 
Anyone have any experience with this?

I have the exact same problem with a Yamaha v473 and android phone running the av controller app.  I created an account just to post this.

I got a (very prompt and thoughtful) response back from Yamaha. The tech guy tried it himself and said it worked on some models but not others, and not mine. (I have 573, so probably same boat for you.) He was going to talk to engineering in Japan and try to figure out why and get back to me. I'll report back if I hear something.
 
It might not hurt to send them a tech support email -- a little more pressure to update the app or firmware or whatever is the problem.

I have a solution. You can set up a dlna server on your phone with the skifta app by qualcomm. Then use the av controller app and select the server. Flac should stream fine.
