Hi. I'm looking for a DAP that would play FLAC files w/ true line-out. The more portable, the better. If no FLAC capabilities, I can just go WAV, too. But smaller the better... thanks!

Do you mean digital out? I'm new to this, and I'm not sure what a "true line out" means?

FWIW, I use a 5.5 Ipod--80g rockboxed to play .flac with a line out dock to a headphone amp.

You mean with 2x RCA jacks? Then one and only Rio Karma, I guess.
Plays flac, too. Discontinued, but can still be bought off ebay... (got one myself a day ago).
The jacks are in the cradle, though, so I doubt if it qualifies as 'as portable as possible', though
