Hey guys,

I recently starting copying my CD's to FLAC files. I use Winamp with the ASIO plugin and ASIO4ALL. It works fine with my MP3's, but when I play the flac files, they play, but the time doesn't count and the status bar (or seek bar, whatever it's called) doens't move. Everything sounds fine, it's just really annoying.

Any suggestions on what's wrong?

Thanks

PS please don't suggest using Foobar. I'm just looking for help with Winamp. Thanks.

But seriously, try reinstalling winamp. There is also a FLAC plugin that you might need...

Any hints on what that might be?

this one? http://www.winamp.com/plugins/details/143614

yeah I got that one installed...

Oh crap. I think I just realized what I did...you have to highlite FLAC in the 'file type' after it's installed. I'm not sure if I have that...I'll check it when I get home.

That didn't work. Am I supposed to be doing something else with the ASIO Plugin????

I'm having a very similar problem to what the OP once had, except after installing the flac plugin linked in one of the posts, now I get no sound at all! Oh, and the problem affects all file types, not just flac. I've tried reinstalling multiple times as well as trying two asio plugins for winamp to no avail.

It sounds like you have your ASIO set up wrong.

I set it up exactly as the ASIO thread said it should be... Bah, I guess I'll just use foobar instead
