Are there any I should pursue or haggle for?  I am thinking about the Technics SL-1500 especially, as well as the B&O.  Should I just scour thrift stores instead?  Or go online?  This seems like a good deal possibly: http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/507592/fs-sony-ps-x600-biotracer-turntable-fully-automatic which has is a ps x600 with a Grado z1 cartridge.

If I were you I would avoid complicated turntables and get a good simple one.

In your list the Pro-Ject 1.2 is the kind of turntable I would get, but that particular example is not great.

The best known "simple but good" turntable is the Rega. There really are a huge number of those and they are still in production.

So, personally, I'd check out eBay etc for a good used Rega.

I've just done a search at UK eBay with "Rega Planar" in turntables category and there are some there.

I'd go for the Technics SL-1500, although that price is a little more than I would pay.

No love for a 1200? they are always available second hand. Just look out for one thats been DJ'ed on excessively and your set.
