They still sound like crap, but at least they still work!

Used Navahips 24GA silver strand, Radio Shack 1/8" plug, and a shoelace from my Airwalks...

looks good- how was it working on the IEM? i imagine it would be pretty tight

The braiding was more time consuming than I anticipated, then to cover it up with a cheap shoelace. Working with a shoelace SUCKED, I will purchase the correct sleeving next time.
 
Also the cheap Radio Shack plug was no fun to work with.
 
Working with the IEM itself was a piece of cake, it was the cable that was a PITA.

The shoelace is hollow, I threaded the braided cable thru it.

Instead of shoelace just get some heat-shrink tubing.

That way you get the braided feel of a cable, but it's far more form fitting and makes it FAR easier to fish wires through.

I own skull candy titans. Piece of advice, do some heatshrink tubing around casing and the wire out. When you step on the wire later you'll thank me later.
