I also prefer the SRH440 with 840 pads over my all my MDR-V6 and 7506s. The V6//7506 are great headphones, but they have a lower resolution compared to the SRH440. If they had a higher resolution, it might be a different story. Still, If you can get the MDR-V6s at a good price, it is definitely a worthy candidate to consider.

The shure srh 440 definetly have the edge in clarity and detail.

They are excellent headphones...but not as bass heavy as some of the models listed on your profile.  They have a good amount of bass, and if more is needed, a quick and easy mod gives you even more bottom end power.

Well now that i have neutral headphones, i actually prefer mostly neutral sound (i really like mid centric headphones)
