hello!
planning to buy new pair of headphones near 160$.
I'm not a basshead but also not a neutral sounding headphones fan. I have tried sony XB400 (over bassy) and sennheiser PX200 II (too much neutral) for my taste.
As my Headphone jack doesn't work will be using them with my steelseries soundcard just for Music.
Genre : anything except hip hop and very rarely for dubstep.
concerns: sound quality with good bass, noise isolation, comfort and the size wont matter much as! they are just for home use.
I was planning on ath m50x but they are more of a Studio headphones and any ideas about sound quality of audio technica ws 55 will be much appreciated.

The Audio Technica being a Studio Headphone should not take them automatically from the list, I would definitley give them a shot: http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-M50x-Professional-Monitor-Headphones/dp/B00HVLUR86/ref=sr_1_2?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1412287275&sr=1-2

I would also try the V-Moda LP headphones If you like the look and they are more fun than the M50Xs:

Some other headphones that might fit:
Marshall monitor (comes with different filters to change sound signature)
Donscorpio Dolphin (this is sold on tvcmall, penonaudio, and penonaudio's ebay page: bigbargainonline)
onkyo esfc300

Comparison between es fc300 and dolphin:

es fc300,mashall monitor and donscorpio dolhpin aren't much popular brand products in here so the price difference is too high :frowning2: thanks for the recommendation.
price of popular brands such as sony, sennheiser, shure, audio technica cost 20-30usd more.

I honestly think that the donscorpio dolphin would be the best value in india.
The ath m50 and crossfade lp are both about 240 usd on amazon india (can be found around $150 in US amazon)
The vmoda m100 is 500 usd (can be found around 300 in US amazon)
The donscorpio dolphin is around $130 with all currencies in tvcmall (same mailing service)

Its not a big deal in my opinion because:
Its not like headphones come doa.
It has a detachable cable
The only headphone durability problem i have ever had is with the cable.
You could almost buy 2 donscorpio dolphins for the price of 1 vmoda crossfade or 1 athm50
It has a 6 month warranty
