Hello. I'm looking to get an amp for the first time and am not sure exactly which way to go.
I'll be using it for my laptop, but it does not need to be portable as my laptop sits on my desk 99% of the time.
I'll be getting myself a pair of Grado SR-80's this week (unless anyone recommends otherwise, please make suggestions) so I'm looking to get an amp within the next month or two but I'm trying to pick one out now.
I've been looking at the Zero DAC/Amp (ZERO NEW 24BIT 192KHZ DAC +HEAD PHONE AMP +USB PC link - eBay (item 140240204253 end time Jun-14-08 19:42:44 PDT)) and have read lots of good things about it on this site. Is this a good way to go? Or is there anything better in that price range? (under $200 preferably)
Also, looking at that Zero on ebay it comes with the USB PC Link. That would be all I need to buy to set it up right?
Any suggestions would be awesome and if you need any more information to help let me know and I will provide it.
