Are there any plans to make the firmware updateable via Bluetooth? I don't have access to any pc/laptop.

Dear friend,

No. Because the update tool only have a Windows version.

Best regards

That's a shame, it will be the ONLY thing that I can criticize about this amazing little thing. I am pretty sure I will not be the only person who has no access to a Windows machine and none of us will want to miss out on important firmware updates.

Dear friend,

The chip supplier only provide a Windows version to us however. You could try to borrow a Windows computer for your friend instead.

I fully understand how to work around the limitation. I just think that it is a shame that a device designed for mobile use cannot be updated via Android/Apple mobile devices, it is after all 2019:)

I tried updating the firmware but the DFU doesn't show up in the device manager and the download doesn't give any way to open the wizard.
I'll admit I'm not the best at windows computers but nothing worked.

I only tried this as the "version 1.0" doesn't appear in the Fiio app that I just downloaded even though I bought the btr3 in Nov and the retailer told me it was updated.

Also, the connection fails after about 10 secs when using the Fiio app..

Thanks. I always ending up at this page:
https://www.fiio.com/newsinfo/84403.html

Where it is said:
"A. Download the Firmware file and the Upgrade tool
After downloading, unzip the package and install the upgrade tool directly by double clicking it (.exe file). In general, please try not to change the default installing path during the installation process."

but

WHERE CAN I DOWNLOAD THIS DAMN UPGRADE TOOL!!!
There is no link given!!!!!
I have somehow manged to get the "BTR3_1.0.dfu" file (by randomly googeling and clicking everything) but not the upgrade tool!!!!!!!

EDIT:
I finally found the link here: http://fiio.net:8000/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=43642

Dear friend,

Does the disconnection remain when using other APPs? You may check the firmware version using other mobile phone to see if it helps?

Best regards

@FiiO Is this still the most current firmware?
Dear friend,

Yes, the latest stable firmware is v1.0 now.

But we have the beta firmware for improving the calling quality as well. If you met this problem, you could contact support@fiio.com about that.

Best regards
