How similar to the HF-1 are the SR225? I've borrowed a pair of HF-1 from a friend and I'm loving it. I can't justify spending $300-350 on a pair of HF-1, but $160 for a used pair of SR225 is much easier to stomach

I've owned the SR325i, but they were a bit too bright and heavy for my tastes. Or shoud I save up for a pair of RS-2 ($290-375 used)?

If you can find RS-2s for less than $300 buy them, they're great cans. Not that the 225s are bad, they aren't for the $$$, but neither are they the end-all of the Grado lineup. Congrats to the OP, I had a pair for a while and only sold them to try other cans.

Congrats indeed on the purchase. I'm sure you'll love them as much as those who have spoken before.

Watch out though! Grado packs a virulent upgraditus bug into each pizza box He and Alessandro ship out!
