After a wait of exactly 3 months (!) I finally got my new player this morning. Just attached it to my Meier Opera to start the traditional burn-in. Until this will be over, I won't go into comments. It looks built like a tank (and weights like a tank, eheh). Couldn't be happier as for now.

You referring to the $7,000 Marantz SA-7S1 SACD-CD Player? I guess so...

Congratulations! ...and don't forget to post pictures and some impression later on.

Here is one image...still trying to make my Nokia N95 take decent photos indoors.

The photo really doesn't do justice to this player's look. It looks much much nicer than my old, already quite nice looking SA-17S1...

It is running Mahler's 2th (Ivan Fischer, Channel Classics SACD) as burn-in media. First impression is that bass seems to go quite deeper than it did with my old player, and there is already some more air around instruments, again compared to my previous, already excellent Marantz player. Haven't tried it with my Opera+GS1000 pairing yet...I would like to have it fulled burned-in first.
