I'm having a problem with my KA11. On my Windows laptop the audio will frequently cut out, multiple times a minute, making it completely unusable. It's on the newest drivers and firmware, no issues playing from my iPhone. It sounds like the issue this guy is having here, but none of the fixes in the thread worked.

Anyone else have this issue and know how to fix it?
Dear friend,

Hi, did you try another USB port and music APP to see whether it helps?

Best regards

Yes I've tried both of those things, neither worked. Could it be a problem with the windows driver? Or maybe insufficient power delivery via usb?
Dear friend,

Hi, Music stutters on some Windows computers due to the driver

(1) It is due to the different power management policies of some computers.

Please go to the settings menu of Control panel->Hardware and Sound->Power options to disable the "USB selective suspend setting" and then restart the computer.

(2) If the problem still exists, please go to the Power options->PCI Express and turn off Link State Power management.

(3) If it still can't be solved, please choose the driver-less mode. Uninstall the DAC driver and ASIO, and then choose the KA11 as the output device.

And if you have another computer, please try another computer.

Best regards

Hello guys
I ordered a new one ka11.
The first one don't work I will give a new try.
Just to update, the ka11 arrived and this time they work very well.
The sound was amazing, very good quality and very powerful.
Using the application "fiio control" and change the sound settings I don't understand the difference between the different mods.
It supposed to work right?

Tried a beta version firmware for both of my JA11's. Still getting distortion in them
Dear friend,

Could you please describe in detail the usage scenario of "distortion"? For example, the model and version of the playback device you use, the model of the headset, and what settings you made for JA11? So that we can better test your problem. Thank you!

Best regards

Dear friend,

What part of the FiiO Control App are you referring to? If you are referring to the audio module's filters, they are some of the effects that come with the chip manufacturer, and the adjustments to the sound are relatively subtle. Generally, you can find a detailed description of the filters on the chip manufacturer's official website.

Best regards

Hi

Please review my post history for all usage cases and troubleshooting.

Long time since my last post,

I've bought a JA11 dongle from the official aliexpress store linked on the fiio website, and I'm having some issues with it that are rendering it unusable for the time being.

ATM I can't use my dedicated headphone output on a vanilla SB Z because it's too hot for cheap sensible IEMs, at just 2-4% windows volume it becomes too loud for long use. For this reason I've aquired a JA11 so I can also cap its output to be able to have a wider range of windows volume adjustment.
Even on this dongle when the output is unrestricted (60/60) in Fiio Control app, it's still too loud for my usage (less than 8% windows volume usable), so I must cap its maximum output. But regardless if I plug it to an Android phone or PC, run it in UAC 1.0 or UAC 2.0 in different usb controllers, use windows drivers of Fiio's provided drivers, use FW 2.0, or try an older one like 1.7 I always come across the same issue:

After having its volume limited on the Fiio Control app (Android), I'll always get a faint fuzz distortion sound while music is playing. No problem with volume at default 60 (max), but the moment I lower it to be able to use sensible IEMs (Truthear Gate, MDR-EX110, Zero 2, atm) to 40/60 or 30/60 in the Fiio app this distorted fuzz becomes very noticeable when there's only a single instrument playing against the background. I've also noticed that similar noise can be heard just by moving the windows volume slider while music is playing (something I never experienced with internal soundcards).
On android while music is playing, if under the Fiio Control App I reduce the max volume slider to less than max 60 and try different steps, it's noticeable that this fuzz will always remain at a similar volume while the volume music is playing effectively changes.

Posting this here, as I'm unsure if I have a defective unit, or if it's a firmware problem less noticed, given that most will keep this dongle at max output (60).
Thanks

I had the same issue with my two units.

Looked back into your posts and the issue seems the same indeed, probably wouldn't have noticed if left at 60/60 vol, but unfortunately that's of no use to me.

Edit: Some extra observations:
- If the Fiio Control volume is left at max 60/60 but the EQ is enabled (flat) with -12db then saved into device, the fuzzy digital background noise while playing doesn't seem to return, testing it next on a PC. Unfortunately that level of attenuation is still less than I'd be comfortable with, so I'd rather have the proper limiter working without adding noise/distortion.

Unrelated, this is my first USB soundcard, so the following might be obvious for everyone else:
- On PC while using UAC 1.0 driverless there's a delay when initializing the sound device (on which the output is detected as an Headphone), so it doesn't start to play immediately. P.e, if I double click an m3u playlist to open my audio player (set to DSound output), The JA11 will only start to play sound a bit later into the music that had already started to play (testing w/ a track that starts with sound immediately). Only if I open a track while the program is already running no sound at the beginning will be skipped.
It's even more obvious on the Win Control Panel while using the sound "Test" on the Advanced tab where "Default Format" is chosen, both L/R sound samples will only be heard mid-way after they start to play.
- In UAC 2.0 driverless, there seems to be way less output delay/sound skip when starting the music player from a playlist, but CP L/R sound test is still a mess.
- Using the Fiio driver + UAC 2.0 mode seems to solve the issue, I guess the way it's installed as a Portable Player with Speaker out makes it more ready.
When the JA11 is set to UAC 1.0 while the Fiio driver is installed, it won't be possible to play anymore, even if the driver seems properly installed and will detect it in device manager as JadeAudio JA11(1.0) instead of (2.0). But to be fair, I guess it's really meant to only support it in UAC 2.0 mode.

Would people say that the KA11 has enough power to do justice to the AKG K702 headphones I have? And in terms of output power, how does it compare with an LG V30 phone (if people are still familiar with that)?
