Is it possible to purchase the X7 with the amp module of your choice, or does it always come with the AM1 and you have to spend extra if this isn't suitable?

Sorry, but that's taking the piss. You can't even sell the AM1 on, because everyone has got one, like it or not!
It's like wanting to purchase a BMW M3, and being forced to get it with a 2.0 litre engine, and having to purchase the M3 unit afterwards.
Why would a potential purchaser want an AM1 module if they don't use IEMs? All the modules should have been made available at the time of launch and you would choose which one you wanted based on current and future use.

It would have been a logistics nightmare, not to mention, how would they know how many of each module to make. I easily see why they opted to include a module, I just don't agree with it being the am1. Way underpowered.
FiiO should have thought of that before they went down the route they have. Essentially, if you are not using IEM's you are spending something like £80 you don't need to with no hope of selling the AM1 on.
I agree with your comment though. They should have shipped with a medium powered module.
As a matter of principle, I won't be looking at a X7 or adding a Q5 Amp/DAC to my X5 2nd Gen, unless I can choose the amp module I require at the time of purchase.

For me the am1 is useless. The am2 should have been included. I'm not even talking about for driving headphones. Strictly IEMS. Just way underpowered.
Probably the cause of a review I read where the reviewer said he couldn't tell the difference between the X7 and the X5ii in blind tests!
How many people have auditioned the X7 and bought something else because of the AM1 not showing the full potential? Marketing disaster, and I'm a FiiO fan.
Hope this doesn't turn into a Commodore International scenario, where a strong product range and sales couldn't save the company after releasing computers that were commercial flops (Amiga 600, Commodore 16, Plus 4 and 64GS).

Thanks for your suggestion , no worry, it is possible for you to purchase the X7 with any amp modules you need , X7 will not come with AM1 in the future . It has been decided by our company already, but it takes us several months (maybe one or two months) to make it come true.
