Which do you think is better?  They are both Asynch, FiiO supports higher sampling rates (I know we really can't hear above redbook standards)
 
I was thinking since I have the X3 I could sell the Modi and just connect my Magni to my X3 with 3.5mm to RCA
 
Any thoughts on the matter?
 
Hopefully this is in the right place, it's halfway between Full-size & portable

Hmmm, since you have them both at hand, why don't you just try it? Then you can report back and let us know how the sound is. Your only investment is a cable that you can re-use....
 
While I really like the modi, I think you can certainly live with the quality of the X3 as a DAC. I have received a X3 today and can try it instead of my modi as well.
