Last I heard that was the suffix they were using but it could have changed by now. I'd like to know please, if people who have had these a while are satisfied with the amount of low end. Does it seem tight and punchy or just big and bassey? Are the highs smooth enough not to burn out your ears? I had the X1 briefly and they seemed a bit strident listening with Audio -Technica ATH IM70s. I am new to ear buds so it's possible the slightly strident highs come from those. The X1 was also my first DAP.
 
Do people like the IM 70s for jazz and rock? Are they just OK or ........

Fiio X3ii has a neutral sound with Tight & Punchy low-end. Neutral sound allows the device to work well for (almost) all genres. This gives the user, the liberty to choose the headphone/IEM that would best suit the user's music preference.
 
Sorry, I haven't tried the IM70. Cant help you there.
