FiiO X1 preview world tour--impressions thread

Just made an AWESOME discovery while testing a new set of headphones - X1 responds to Play/Pause button of any headphone that has in-line remote.

Doesn't matter if its Android or iPhone based remote, I just tested with a bunch of headphones and pushing Play/Pause button once on remote pauses and resumes play on X1.  Pushing it twice skips to the next track, and pushing it three times skip to the previous track.  Just like a typical smartphone control!!!

Holly crap!!!  This takes X1 to a whole new portable level where you can actually control playback remotely!!!!!!!!

Excellent review!

Just received X1 from the world tour, starting to review it now.

May I know what file system you used for the 64 and 128 GB cards? I inserted 64 GB with exFAT 128kb, I got message 'file system not supported'.

Thanks!

I just finished my review of the X1. Inside you'll find:

  1. A reference to the movie 'Animal House'
  2. Manny Ramirez
  3. A reference to the dearly departed Eric "The Actor" Lynch
  4. Photos in full color
  5. Easy-to-read font sizes
  6. More relative clauses than you can shake a stick at

And it's 100% Free!!! Simply go to http://www.head-fi.org/products/fiio-x1-ultraportable-hi-res-dap/reviews/11637 and have your credit card ready for verification purposes.

FAT32, sadly exFAT is not supported.
Most of the cards I used were formatted using the player option (some were formatted on the X5, some on the X1)

There's a bug in the review page: after sliding the bars for the various aspects (sound, build quality, value, etc.), what shows up in the final post does not reflect what is selected during the writing/editing process. I did post in the bug forum, but wanted to let people know about this. I'm not sure if anybody else has been affected. Anyways, carry on...

we still working in the exFAT and release a beta firmware so it should not be a problem in the future.

I tested the exFAT beta firmware for the X3 and worked flawless, thought I'm aware some users reported problems.

Adding exFAT support to the whole X family would be great.
