In the X5 series, this used to happen when pushing one of the back of fwd buttons on the bottom of the DAP
You can try to convert anything that doesn't work using Foobar2000 free software, it's quite handy.

Appreciate that. But it works on my previous x1 and x3. And I now have to take an extra step just to put things back in place? I don't think that should be a solution

Oh, if it works on X1 and X3, I cannot say why it doesn't work now

I know that I have some really exotic files types sometimes, file types that nothing will play, which I convert using either Foobar2000, or using handbrake if they're video files.

  Dear FiiO,

As I recall, you wrote that you work on more stable gapless. Does this mean you developed "partial" fix for now (f.e. gapless only for mp3 format)? Are there any chances for some beta firmware to test it?

Dear bachankas,

The engineers are still working hard about it. There may not be beta firmware for test now.

Best regards

Really a great difference with this update! Thank you so much. Another perk that I did not take notice off is that.. I could use the scroll wheel as a "touch screen" up down navigation just by touching the top and bottom of the wheel.
However, fiio, the 1hr m4a tracks still does not work for me. Base on your previous suggestion on the album art or video that is attached. I could not find any that's lingering around.

Dear Joel3694,

The issue with the MP3 file you provided has been fixed in FW1.5.3. A little more time is needed for the engineer to test and fix that certain m4a file. Sorry if bringing inconvenience to you.

Best regards

  Fiio
I am using a SanDisk ultra 128gb msd card formatted to Fat32.
All my flacs are properly tagged and have album art embedded.

My folder structure is -
Alphabet/artist/album/file
Eg
A - F/Boston/Boston/01.more than a feeling. Flac
This album is visible in both the file browser and the media library.

One of the albums that I can play all songs from the file browser but is not visible for playing in the media library is penthouse and pavement by Heaven 17.  For example
G -  L/Heaven 17/penthouse and pavement CD 1/ 01.(we don't need this)  fascist Grove thang. Flac

All tracks on this album appear in the media library  on both my x3 and x5.

Hope this makes sense
Thanks

Dear graemei101,

We will have a test according to the phenomenon you description.
It would be great if you can share this album to us.
And this issue happens even you try to update the media library again or change another TF card?

Best regards

  Hi George
Thanks for that.  I have updated the media library a few times on each firmware with the same results.  God,  media library  updating is soo much slower In 1.53!

Can't help with Media library update speeds

On the other hand, any type of tag browsing was broken for me since the beginning of my audio-loving journey so I did the following:

I name a folder by the genera:

/ Rock
/ Pop
/ Jazz
/ OST
etc

Then, I name the folder with the name of the bands

/ Rammstein
/ Closure in Moscow
/ Muse
/ Kalafina
etc

Then, if I keep a whole album from that band, I create another folder with this type of name

Year - Name of album

2009 - First temple
2014  - Pink Lemonade
etc

So my file path looks something like

Card/Post hardcore/Closrue in Moscow/2009 - First Temple/02. Reindeer Age.flac

Browsing goes pretty fast this way and I never update libraries (?)

I changed many DAPs over time and using this type of library proven to be safest. Even on my android phone and Android based players this is the fastest way to browse as I can create mixed folders (which worked better than creating playlists so far).

This, and I have folders like

Card/Cool singles/

where I keep songs that are singled out from an album - for example some good rock or pop pieces.

(This is how I do things, it might help or not, but it is a way of doing things. Quite handy if you don't have entire albums or bands, or if you group songs by your own criteria e.g. all metal songs in the same folder)

I'm still getting this intermittent problem where the X1ii plays music back at double speed. Kind of fun, but not what I really want in a music player ;-)

This only happens intermittently, and only after resume-from-sleep. FiiO, any news on a fix for this?

This has happened to me too like 5-10 times, maybe? But it is not consistent, I don't know what to do to make the player speed up songs again.

DAP takes more time to read .ogg files and play.

I do not use media libray, I use folders so I do not test indexing or library buiding performance.

Sorry, I can't help that much with this

Hm... Only one more thought comes to mind. Are the ogg files extremely compressed? It might take more time to decode them if they are heavily compressed. Though they are not flac which at lvl 8 is presumably harder to decompress, I don't know about ogg being harder to decompress in certain situations
