I received my X1ii today and except for a bluetooth problem everything is working well. I bought this for the bluetooth and I have to pair it to my Bose QC35 every time I want to use it. The X1ii doesn't remember the headphones. It's not the GC35, it tells me it's connecting to the X1ii but the X1ii doesn't show a connection. When I turn on the GC35 it will connect automatically to my iPhone or iPod Touch and start playing music. I don't expect the X1ii to do that but I do expect it to remember it was paired. When I pair it with the X1ii the name of the GC35 appears as connected on the X1ii and it works well, so when I turn it on the next time I expect to see the GC35 listed as paired. I did upgrade the FW to 1.2

mine has got a good connection, I'm pairing it with sony sbh20 device.

Verify you have "automatic connection on startup" set to on.
Turn on your X1, and it should display the starting Bluetooth.
Once that message goes away then fire up your headphones.
Then in about 1 minute they should pair themselves.

Where can I find a manual for the X1 II?

Hi, ErDinky
The manual is still preparing because we change and fix some issue in the new firmware. Besides, we want to collect some general problems our users have and add them into our manual. We are trying to make the manual more detailed and better. But still sorry for bringing inconvenience to you. We will try to release the manual this week. Thank you for your feedback.

  Hi, georgelai57
Maybe you can read this post for help: http://www.fiio.me/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=41636&extra=page%3D1

Hi James,

I read that before I bought the player this afternoon here in Singapore.

But after enabling "In Vehicle Mode" it has now frozen as I have explained in my original post and I cannot reset it. I found that if I hold the power button for more than 10 seconds it powers off but on powering on, the same three screens - Hello, Fiio Logo, In Vehicle Mode - appear again. How do I reset to factory settings?

For the record, I am on FW 1.20

Thanks.

Hi, georgelai57
Sorry to hear about that. Generally, the message of the In Vehicle mode appears for only a few seconds and will disappear. But the reset seems failing to help you as well. Could you please try to reflash the FW1.2 again to see whether it helps? When you unplug the card, can your X1II be turned on normally? Please accept our sincere apology for the inconvenience bringing to you. Looking forward to your feedback.

Hi. I found the solution earlier this afternoon. The fault was a micro SD card that works perfectly in my two other DAPs. I tried a different card and In Vehicle Mode now works.
My layman conclusion is that the Fiio in finding a card it can't read for whatever reason goes into a loop and hangs. Other DAPs would just ignore the card, or put a message that says "card corrupted" or "no music on card" as some examples.
In all my years of playing with DAPs and having many SD cards, I have never come across a DAP that hangs without saying the card could be at fault so it never occurred to me to try a different card.

Yeah, need to double check that the card you want to use is formatted to fat32

Hi, georgelai57
Could you please tell us the brand and the capacity of the card you used before? What file system it is?

Hi, georgelai57

PNY 128GB Exfat for both the first card that caused the hanging and the card that I'm using in the car right now.
I have a number of Exfat cards and a number of DAPs, and I will never format a card just to suit a particular DAP.

Something else I'm noticing about the new X1 is that the touch wheel is too sensitive. I haven't used my X3II for several days until today and the scroll wheel is far more accurate on the X3II.

Do a few tests. Sometimes it'll seem far too sensitive, other times it'll seem not sensitive enough.

For example, when on the home screen, highlight the middle menu item. now place your thumb at the 12 o'clock position...now move your thumb in any direction. Technically, when you move your thumb back again to the 12 o'clock position, the same item should be highlighted again. Sometimes it works, but most of the time it doesn't

I can't test right now because I'm at work and only have the X3II with me but I'll try that after work. The X3II is way more snappy too...when adjusting the volume on the X1 II there is a delay...there seems to be a delay when selecting anything. I guess I never realized how slow it was until going back to using my X3II today. Maybe they should have stuck to the same OS.

Yeah, it was especially annoying for me when I was trying to test 2 devices (playing the same file on 2 device, pausing both, swap the headphone to the other device). So, I'd start playing the same file on both devices, but then the X1 would have the delay, so then I'd have to pause the other device and start playing again just enough to sync them....and then I'd have the same issue again when I paused to do the swap.

It doesn't seem to me that a firmware update will fix this. I hope I'm wrong. I didn't find it annoying until today after going back to the X3II today.

Absolutely a firmware update will fix this. There's an amazing amount of crud in modern software, much snappier code was written decades ago with much slower processors.

Installing Rockbox on a supported DAP brings this home, assembly and tight code makes a big difference.
