The q5s has all the latest Bluetooth codecs like LDAC and updated internals (i don't really care about those except the bluetooth codecs) ,idk if i will hear a difference from Q5(aptx) to Q5s(ldac) via TIDAL
any thoughts?

That depends on the money you need to spend. If you can sell your Q5 and get Q5s for 100$ or less I'd say go for it, otherwise not really worth it.

i bought my q5 used for 160$.The q5s used anywhere is still like 300ish

So I don't think you need to upgrade, it doesn't worth it.

I should be getting a Q5s today so I hope they drive my hd-800s well enough.

Disclaimer - I don't own either of them.

But if you already own the Q5, i really don't think it's worth it at all. Speaking as someone looking to pickup a portable amp, in 2020 i would definitely not buy a high end BT amp that didn't have LDAC, and it's the main thing that has stopped me from picking up a used Q5.
