I had lots of issue playing native dsd on spdif out. Sometimes it doesnt find the song, displaying "file not found".issues occur in both dsd 128 and 256. Is there any fix on upcoming update?
Dear user,

The M5 support DSD up to DSD128. Does your issue happen in certain music file? You may check whether the DSD file is in DST decoding?

Best regards

Dear user,

Thanks for the feedback. We will report to the engineer for assessing about that.

Best regards

Thank you. Also it will be nice to have player remembered last played track when powered off and to make Now Playing control buttons more accurate

Fiio, although its been mentioned already please allow me to reiterate that sort by “album artist” is an important option for many. Please make it happen! It is incredibly annoying to sort by artist - play an LP, then realise that half the tracks are missing due to featured artists, and have to subsequently go and sort by album name.

Quick question for M5 users:

1. Does M5 take 1tb micro sd card? What about 512gb?
2. How long does it take to be able to browse the music in folder view after inserting a micro sd card?

Dear user,

1. Theoretically, the M5 could work with the 1TB SD card.
2. And you could also read the review of M5 for reference, for example:

The info I wanted is not in the review. Please allow me to reiterate my question: Is the card indexing process done in the background? i.e. am I forced to look at a "scanning metadata" screen before I am allowed to browse folders (as in a sony dap), or am I allowed to browse folders as scanning is being done in the background (as in a ak dap)? Thanks!

Scanning is not performed in the background. You need to force it manually (and wait for scanning complete) or set scanning to be performed automatically after disconnect from usb (still you need to wait for complete).

That's exactly what I needed. Thank you!

That's a bummer. I have many large sd cards to be swapped in and out. So I guess M5 is out :frowning2:

But the process takes less time than on Sony daps. I have a decent Transcend card with 256 GB space and it was used in M5 and NW-A55 and for M5 scanning process is a little faster. I have about 5 thousand tracks on my device, including mp3 files, flacs, dsds and it takes about one minute, maybe a little more to complete. About 100 GBs of free space now.

A follow-up question: If I don't force re-scan in the settings, can I browse and playback the new card in folder view?

Sorry, can't help, I've returned my device to the seller in case of problems with SBC codec.
