I have neither of the devices. M3pro has a dac and JWD does not, output is lower ( 70mw vs ~125mw on JWD ). Fiio products are very well made, refined and clean sound. But you will be missing out on BT, Wifi streaming capability and less power. Also, no EQ on fiio.

New filters option in FW1.1.0 doesn't work at all for me. Switching between filters makes no difference in sound signature. Can anybody confirm that?
I own LG V20 and G7 with ESS DAC and changing filters makes huge difference.

The filter difference may not be quite noticable, but we test via oscilloscope and confirm the filters work.

You could find the EQ function in settings-play settings-EQ in the M3PRO.

Dear FiiO, can you raise the album title up? So that it is above the cover art. Then the album name will be near to the artist name and the track name. It will be more beautiful and logical than it is now.

can it be that these Chinese make fun of us? we need a self-adjustable equalizer. EVERYONE who can reduce the damn heights, the Fiio M3Pro is tuned way, way too bright! that hurts your ears !!!! Anyways, I'm not really sure what exactly these newly added filters do, is there any thing I can read that goes a little more in depth? Also, sometimes the player still resets when playing music, and lags for large playlists, is this because of lack of memory to handle large playlists and large song queues?

ok this is ridiculous firmware update and no custom eq still.
the player sounds good but the highs are hurting the ears like someone said earlyer.it is tuned clearly whrong in the highs region...highs piercing the bran,distortios in the mids and highs in high volumes...
the eq options are fixing these issues but making the sound really boring and dull.
.
on early posts fiio said that a custom eq is in development or something.maybee they where just thinking to develop a firmware with it
now two firmwares have released and no custo eq to bee seen.

I want buy M3 Pro. Is compatible with OSX? I read that when you connect it, the Mac does not read the player and to load the music you have to do it by removing the sd card and to do drag and drop into it. Not load via cable? Possible?

Dear friend,

You could switch the usb mode to storage from system setting. Then the MAC computer could read the M3PRO's SD card after connecting the M3PRO to it. You don't need to remove the SD card from the M3PRO and use an extra card reader for help at that time.
