Dear friend,

I failed to find your email in our email system by searching M3Pro. Did you send email to support@fiio.com? Or you may try to send again via another email address?
Does your issue happen in the same position or file everytime?

Best regards

Note that I have succeeded in getting it to index. After several attempts and on/off, it indexed.

I have owned the M3 Pro for about a week or so. The M3 Pro is a decent DAP for the price, but its weakness is its headphone amp. To get the most of it, I highly recommend pairing this DAP with a separate headphone amp. If you do this, it takes the sound quality of the M3 Pro to the next level. You will find excellent improvements in bass, soundstage, imaging, musicality, detail, midrange quality, dynamics, and so on. I have my M3 Pro paired with my Topping NX3S headphone amp, and I definitely recommend it as an option to get a much better sound experience out of this DAP.

This is just an update on my experience with the M3 Pro. I am just not satisfied with this unit. I have been trying to force myself to accept this DAP for the last week, but in my opinion, the sound quality is just not up to my standards. This is what I get though for going with the cheaper option. I am going to see if I can return it to the place I bought it, or just sell it to someone, and buy the Fiio M6 instead.

Dear user,

Thanks for your kind feedback. We will also report to the product manager about that. You could also try the other players in the local store for comparing.

Best regards

In this day and age, where competition in the smartphone industry is raising the bar in sound quality (with native 3.5 mm or use of included dongles),
A player like M3 pro may have more success 5 years ago, but is perhaps at best on par with a smartphone sound quality, why would people carry an extra device?

I think this is an important question FiiO and many other music player makers need to ask themselves.

Look at other industries such as the camera industry. The smartphone is taking over the basic and some even higher tier product categories in performance.
Expectations of consumers are rising and a standalone product that does averagely is losing its place to a smartphone.

Renegade by Styx, a benchmark song i use to test deep bass.

The idea is that when the singer is giving the first lines, all you hear is him singing and a deep heartbeat.

you cant hear the heartbeat with the M3 Pro.

I'm not sure what do you mean because I was curious enough to check and everything you describe can be heard very well.

The M6 sound quality is better?

I have not heard the M6 yet. It is supposed to be delivered here on Friday. I can certainly let you know once I get it in the mail. The M3 Pro, in my opinion, is a mediocre sounding device. I think the best option is to just not bother with the M3 Pro, and buy a DAP in the 150-200 dollar range where better sounding options exist.

There's just way too many FIIO models in this low end space. M5, M6, M7 etc.

The only thing distinguishing the M3pro was low price, smallness, and newness, which made it worth a shot. Good for easy travel and not having to worry about something expensive being stolen. Otherwise, I have the A&K SR15 and SE100. Which sound good. And I haven't noticed that great a difference in sound quality. But I think I have noticed some difference. I am using SE535 earphones, and they should be good enough to tell the story.

I wish someone (Like maybe FIIO?) had a chart that clearly showed the differences among all these low-end units. Then I might take a stab at seeing if I can tell the difference between a slightly higher-end FIIO and my A&K SR15.
