strange, I have the iPhone 15 Pro Max and iOS 17.4.1 and everything is working fine ...
Same here, iPhone SE2 iOS 17.4.1 FiiO KA5 Firmware 1.30, and everything works normally before and after the update to iOS 17.4.1. The brief interference/static is normal in my experience when not in airplane mode as the iPhone switches cell towers and happens with my other brand dongles. The iPhone is very twitchy about USB cables, so I keep an official Apple Camera Connector USB cable as a test. Problems have often been traced to cables using the test cable and there appears to be no explanation why one brand USB/Lightning cable works and another doesn't, even making sure it's rated for data and not just a charging cable.

Edit: New cable worked 👍

I was using the cable from the box fine for months….maybe that has broken? I have ordered another but will have to wait for it to be shipped in about 10 days …the cables seem hard to come by in the UK…

So updated to new iOS… 17.4.1 on my iPhone 14 Pro Max and now the Fiio KA5 (firmware 01.30) has stopped working… Fiio customer services have been quick to respond but early days…
I have tried different OTG cables and had a look in settings, restarted phone checked the USB 1 and 2 fix etc but nothing obvious …they suggested turning down volume on the phone but that hasn’t made any difference… the volume comes from phone and the device either powers up but no sound or occasionally doesn’t even connect with at least one “this device is not supported message”
Anyone else having this issue? Seems to be something that happens every so often with Apple updates with a quick Google …
The original apple dongle is working…but I want my Fiio back…
Only other thing I do notice with the Fiio is interference when phone connects to different masts…
Dear friend,

If you have other mobile phone or computer, you could try the connection with KA5 via other cables. If the issue does not remain, the problem may locate in the lightning to c cable.

Best regards

I have ordered another lightning to USB C - from Xangsane which says it should work as OTG with audio… I couldn’t find one of your ones in stock anywhere…
The Fiio works with my iPad Pro still which is why as it was the first use after the phone updated it’s iOS I thought it might be an apple issue..
Fingers crossed it will work on the iPhone with another cable …unfortunately it is a 10 day wait to see…
Again nice to see you as a company responding 👍

OOOOK - after testing this Amp for a week now I'll send it back. Why?

The EMI protection - especially in the EDGE / GSM band is just bad. Only workaround is flight-mode but then you cant do anything besides listening to this perfect sound of this little amp.

And there is a bug - at least on my Galaxy S23. Sometimes the sound just mutes when you play music via the Samsung or just any other music app.

The slider is still moving which means that the track is still playing. When I press the next track button sound is back - very weird (and seldom).

The FIIO software is outstanding as well as the sound of the KA5. So it's not easy to send it back :frowning2:

Btw. an iBasso DC06pro which I have now doesnt show both behaviours.

I can’t speak to iBssso, but the KA5 shielding is much better than the Earmen Collibri.

Dear friend,

Did you enable the USB exclusive mode in the music APPs? And if you have other usb c to c otg adapter or mobile phone, you could test again as well.

Best regards

You called it…new cable has fixed it… so the upgrade of iOS was purely a badly timed coincidence….
