FIIO K11/K11 R2R, Truly Balanced, Truly Brilliant! Desktop DAC and Headphone Amplifier

Hey all,

Is there a way to connect all three of these? I want to connect the DC Elite to the K11 R2R with the Hiby R4 as digital transport.

The iBasso DC Elite has external no power supply it works when connected to a source. Would this mean the DC Elite can't be used in this chain?

Basically, I would like the DC Elite fidelity mixed with R2R flavour to my sound. Can I do this successfully? The DC Elite is one of the best things I have heard and I would like to incorporate it in my home stack.

If so which cables would I need? And how to connect all three, please.

iBasso DC Elite does not have an analog input, only USB. You cannot combine the R-2R DAC stage of the K11 R2R with the amplifier stage of the DC Elite because there’s no way to bypass the DAC in the DC Elite.

Who did you buy from?

When I received my unit from HiFiGo, I received the unit with a foreign cable in the box also, but they included a US cable in the shipping container for me separately (it was sent from China).

I bought from the Official Fiio site on AliExpress. Nothing else was in the package, unfortunately.

Same thing happened to me. Ordered the Red US edition of he K11 R2R from the official store on AE and got...something else. Disappointing. not sure what my options are.

Can't you guys just buy a cable like this and plug it in no?

I don't have the European plug edition so I could be wrong, but the USA plug one I have ends with that 3 circle looking connection on the side that plug into the adapter.

It's more or less a standard cable, I borrowed one off a laptop power adapter, but that's not a permanent switch. I can buy one from Amazon, but I shouldn't have to. Yes, I've contacted them.

That's what happened to me when I received mine from Amazon UK. It came with what looked like a German plug. Not FiiO's fault but I ended up buying the proper lead. No biggie but a little annoying nevertheless.

Yes. The coaxial SPDIF-socket works as output only if you have a USB-input signal and the digital output signal is simply that of the USB-input (no processing/filtering etc.). Of course the same socket works as coaxial SPDIF input if you select it.

Generally I do like the K11-R2R as DAC although its full line-out is a bit to hot (with the 2.7 Vrms) for some amps I tried it with but you can use the PRE-out for those cases (volume around 80 is safe for them). As a headphone amp, I am not so exited. It sounds a bit flat to my ears with moderately sensitive/medium impedance headphones. But I have it only for one day - so my impressions are not yet final.

Ordered the Red K11 r2r yesterday, will be paired with my Earmen ST-AMP. Will there be some problem if "FULL Line-out" is fed to the ST-AMP ? What harm can the Full line-out do to the External amp?

I can't imagine it do anything bad to external amp. After all it's "line out", it's designed to feed into amp.

That being said how do you like the Earmen ST-AMP, I saw someone selling in my local market so it piqued my interest.

Only thing is that I keep reading it's neutral, usually I like a bit more colored "fun" sound. So not sure if it would be for me, but still piqued my interest regardless lol.

Hi all, if anyone can help me please.

I would like to use my HiBy R4 as digital transport and I would like to use the DAC section of the FiiO K11 R2R in to the Topping EX5 amp. I have tried to connect RCA line out from the R2R in to the RCA of the Topping EX5, connected my headphones to the Topping EX5 and no sound whichever mode. I tried to connect the headphone in to the R2R DAC and no sound. What am I doing wrong here?

How can I get this to work. Basically I want R2R flavour put the EX5
