Hey guys, first time poster here. I recently got an FiiO k1 to use with my chromebook and for some reason it will only work with my phone's quick charge cable, other cables just result in the DAC giving me clicks and beeps through my headphones. Any ideas as to why? Maybe other cables aren't drawing enough power to the DAC from the chromebook? Thanks in advance.

I used to have this problem with an external hard drive. It turns out that some cheap USB cables while good for data, were not good for providing power.

Usually it's pretty cheap to pick up an OEM phone cable that you know will be good for carrying power. For example, https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Micro-Charging-Data-Cable/dp/B00HQPGVDW/

Oh thank you! The only issue is that I'm trying to find a cable that is short, like 6 inches at max. Do you happen to know if any short cables that may work?

Not off hand. Ankle has USB cables in Amazon, and likely have lots of reviews. If they will charge a phone, I would hope that they will work with your DAC

Chromebook should not need an OTG cable. It has a regular USB port
