FiiO Hybrid IEMs Discussion & Impressions Thread

I recently sold my Campfire Audio Solaris 2020 as I preferred the sound from the FH9 at around half the price here in Australia. Since you really like the FH9 have you considered listening to the new FH7S or FD7?
FH9 is a less relaxed Solaris 2020 if I remember correctly.

U should try the FA7s

Well, The FD7 yes, I would. I know very well the Final A8000, so I would be very curious to listen to these FD7. :L3000:

The FH7s, no = Since the Fh9, no interest at all, as I think.
But maybe I'm wrong. :beerchug:

Yeah I have been considering the FA7s for a while 🙂 went with FH7S recently with no regrets also enjoying what I consider FIIO's finest IEM the FD7.

Yes they are. Except that in my opinion, which I share, they are even (far ?) better.

I fact, these Fh9 have no real coloration, they are perfectly tuned and balanced, and they can be very intense, if the track is demanding. With the green filters on, we are entering the realm of the real high end gears as I think. No (more) limits. Transparency, ultimate definition and resolution, effortless transients and full scale dynamics, tones, accuracy...

Wouh.

Ive recently purchased the ZEN PROs and they are absolutely amazing, thats why I dont jump over the FD7.

Also, Ive got the FD5 (wich is not my favourite FiiO iem...)

I haven't listened to the FD5 but was really disappointed with the FD3 Pro, found it lacking in resolution and found the treble excessively bright and harsh 🙂 treble wise the FH7S is amazing, in my opinion better than the FH9.

Using the balanced white filters and Spinfit CP145 tips the treble with the FH7S is very similar to the FH9 but slightly more reserved in its presentation, certainly not dark by any means but still detailed. I prefer using the balanced filter combined with Spinfit CP100 tips with the FH9 to tame the treble a bit 🙂 I'm fairly treble sensitive.

Yes. If you are "treble sensitive", the FH9 with green filters (even black ?) can be too... intense.

For me, just perfect, because I find it very realistic (extension, energy, textures...).

Hum... Spinfit = lack of note weight and tones textures as I think. All the bandwith is concerned...

For me = Canal Work Wide Bore, GEL version tips = absolute best. No competition at all. Just perfect.

Part of the reason why I sold the Solaris 2020, treble was nice with the Astell & Kern SA700 as a source which has a slightly rolled off top end but with any other source I have it was way too bright for my tastes even after doing some tip rolling 🙂

Fair to say you're just a little bit enthusiastic about the FH9 :relaxed: Personally FH9 looks better in Black..
Same for me.
Even my treble-head side prefers the black one.

Do you talk about the filters (ido77 = yes 😋), or the shell finition (black and gold version 😃)?

I think there is a misunderstanding 😁😅
