Hello,
I've been experimenting with asio4all lately with my Fiio and just noticed something strange: it is a 16bit DAC but ASIO insists on sending 32bit output to it. Why?
I can't say I hear any difference between directsound (which sends 16bit+dithering because I've configured it that way) and asio (not configurable since bit depth depends on the hardware) on my XP machine (probably because both are bit perfect with my setup) so I'm just wondering.
The "force WDM driver to 16bit" in asio4all does nothing at all either.
