Could you please comment on whether there is hiss in the E5?

I have tried a PA2V2 - but returned it is I found it very hissy.

My new Xenos amp is great, if the gain switch is at low gain, there is no hiss at all.

I am considering a second, small, low cost amp: the E5 would fit the bill, but only if it is not hissy ( I have read the E3 is hissy).

Can please E5 owners (with sensitive IEM's - as they bring the hiss out) respond?

PS: I have read the long E5 thread - some people mention lots of hiss, others none... So I am confused.

They hiss a bit, but not enough to make it really disturbing. You don't have to have the amp volume all the way up. I just like to turn up the amp volume enough so that the hiss isn't noticeable over my music.

I don't notice any hiss with my E5 setup.

Depends greatly on the setup. With big cans I cannot hear the hiss.

As others say - depends on set-up. With my UE superfi 5's and 5pros - yes - some hiss at higher volumes. I switch to Ety's ( also Senn HD25 cans) and --no - no hiss I can hear!

For the price point I'm very happy with the E5.
