Just bought a Fiio E12, my first portable headphone amp. But now i'm unsure whether the E18 would make more sense, since it has a DAC? I will be using them mainly with my laptop and PS4, and perhaps my android phone. I will be using a Beyer DT 990pro (with the ps4) and a HD650 with the laptop. On the go i use an HD25-1 2. 
 
Since the E18 isn't that much more i was wondering if it would be a much better purchase to pay those 20-30$ more and get a DAC? Or won't it make that big of a difference for my usage?

Well the DAC will come in handy if your laptops sound card is not good. Otherwise its just an amp from every other application. 
 
FWIW, I have a FiiO E07k and the DAC off my laptop works perfectly and its great when using it as an amp for my 4th Gen Touch using the L9 LOD cable.

Thanks for the reply. I will be using on a Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 14 (2015), not sure which soundcard or DAC it has, I'm assuming nothing special. Is the Amp in the E18 as good as in the E12?

I'm sure you will greatly benefit from the DAC over the laptops sound card.

Yes, I returned the E12, will probably get the E18 when its on stock again Thx for the input.
