I think so. I had lots of skipping before, but playing some of the same CDs with the new firmware has eliminated the problem. No issues with gapless playback on live music, either. I'm very happy with the latest firmware (V25).
Following the very positive feedbacks, I just changed my mind and took the risk to order from Aliexpress. None of the FR stores are able to say when they will have stock (again), and if one day they will get some transparent units. Same for Fiio EU and Fiio Deutschland. Only amp3.co.uk has it on preorder, but not knowing anything about availability  Plus there is some unpredictible customs fees from UK to FR.

The main FR store has orederd 330 units with 160 units preordered, and just very few delivered !

I finally found the white skylight version at 186€ on Aliexpress, which is still higher than the EU "predictive" price of 169€, but not a crazy high price...
I hope there will not be more "bugs" to be discovered.
I reckon Fiio has put some effort on the firmware, and finally solved the issues of the early versions

One questions, DM13 users: did anyone tried to run the player with USB PS under 2 amps ?

For firmware upgrade is mandatory an USB C pendrive?
No, I used a USB-A to USB-C adapter for a USB-A thumbdrive I have. Worked without issue for both firmware upgrade and CD ripping.

Also with regards to updating the power usb C cable ineeds to be in the Rec slot and the tumbdrive in the power in slot.

Was wondering for awhile why it wasn't updating.
Thanks!

Now I'm gonna buy one from Ali Express.

I've upgraded the firmware on my DM13 BT and now it finally behaves as expected.
I used my old USB flash-drive connected over USB Type-C OTG adapter.
Playback skips are gone and this is the most important achievement as for now.
Observing results on more CD samples.

Thank you, FiiO developers team

Not sure if its possible to add but a toggle to keep the amp at operating temperatures when desktop mode is on would be nice.

Granted it only takes 5ish mins to get up to temp but its abit annoying to let it run a couple of songs then restart to the first song again to start listening esp when its been left alone of 20min or so and its cooled down.

On one hand its amazing that the amps are so precise that temperature affects them audibly but at the same time hearing everything mushed together when playing from a cold start is annoying.

Hi! I've just seen there is a 4.4 bal LO and a 3.5 bal PO. Using a focal Clear MG with balanced cable 4.4 on 4.4 bal LO port. Does it sound "better" adding a 4.4 to 4.5 adaptator to plug my headfone on 3.5 bal PO?

THX :)

No, it will just sound like the 3.5mm sounds. The way it is wired doesn't change anything...

Just chiming in to say that V25 is working great for me as well. The USB flash drive update mechanism is a bit odd but on the plus side it means I can update the firmware with macOS.

Sound quality with the built in amp is unreal. I’m listening with Meze 109 Pros right now and the localization of instruments is just fantastic. Well done FiiO.

So you don't recommend it to anyone who wants to use it with an integrated amplifier and speakers?
