Question for members who have the leather case for the BTR7. Does it fit tighter than the standard one? I’m finding that the device slides out of the case too easily, especially when removing the headphone jack or plugging the USB-C in.
Dear friend,

Considering the BTR7 may not be taken out easily and the scurf may scratch the glass when fitting too tight, the leather case fits the BTR7 a bit loose.
And the leather case is handmade products so there may be error in different leather cases.
We wil also report your feedback to the engineers.

Best regards

It could fit tighter. I doubt there’s much of chance of scratching the glass and I think most of us would happily take that chance if the fit were more snug.

I agree, I would say the bigger danger is the thing failing out accidentally and hitting the deck. Although from the post above it looks like it would survive!

How about a small strap that reaches over the top and clips the BTR7 in place?

I take back everything negative I said about the BTR7 in the past.

I dropped mine in the middle of the street while I was skating (I fell) and it was run over by a car unfortunately.

It still. Freaking. Works.

Absolute tank of a thing. I’ll be buying another just out of principle. Well done, FiiO 👍

That’s so freaking cool. My BTR7 looks identical to this one… except I’m using clear packing tape 🤣
Dear friend,

This idea was inspired by your feedback actually. :beerchug:

😏 I think that I should get some royalties then… I’ll take a new BTR7… 😂 just kidding. That is very cool. The insides of the BTR7 are actually quite cool and laid out in a very organized way even though no one would ever see it.

Please tell your engineers they did a fantastic job making a great device 🤝

So... how about releasing it as a Special Edition, then? Just like you did the "Skylight Exploration" version of the K9 Pro ESS... only this time, please also release it outside of China!
Dear friend,

We do not have this plan for BTR7 currently. But we will consider about that in our later products~

Best regards

Idea's for the BTR15.

  • Make a slimmed down BTR7, rather than a scaled up BTR5. The BTR7 really sounds wonderful, but could perhaps be smaller.
  • Lose the wireless charging.
  • Lose MQA (!)
  • Lose the screen, or at least make it smaller and 'display only'. (I find having an 'active' screen complicates the hardware buttons too much. IE. Is the screen on or off? How many times do I need to press the button to get into gain mode? Etc, Etc. Personally the only setting I like to use outside of the app is the gain mode - everything else I would rather do in-app), so.....
  • Consider a hardware button for high and low gain.
  • Swap the hardware controls for <<FF >>RR. IE. next track should be the + button.

Just moving up from an original BTR5 to a BTR7 (comes today) and currently use the short Fiio LC-2.5BS 2.5mm balanced cable. Anyone know if Fiio or any other source for a similar 4.4mm short cable?

Using BTR7 connected as DAC to my laptop/PC via the included usb c cable. Firmware 1.85, downloaded the DAC driver for windows.
Using AIMP as media player (although others have been tried)
Using balanced 4.4 output to Meze Liric
Using ASIO Driver in AIMP, ASIO Driver set to 32 bits, 44Hz, 1024 samples

I am getting constant crackling sounds at low volume (19 set from BTR7, 100% from source).
Read on the internet that a factory reset might help the situation.

Factory reset completed. Turned on. Was fine for a couple of minutes before crackling sounds appeared again. Setting samples to lower or higher does not help.
The quality of the audio set in Windows matches the quality set in the asio driver: 32bit, 44Hz

The usb c cable is connected properly (the arrow leaves from PC and goes into FIIO >>). Using a different cable does not fix it.
Using my previous Earstudio ES100MK2 (which does not require any driver) and I am hearing no crackling sounds (or if they are, they are not noticeable).

The laptops/PCs are windows with no dedicated sound cards. Using BTR7 connected to my phone via bluetooth - no crackling sound, so it definitely is related to BTR7 DAC mode.
The driver, for whatever reason, sees my BTR7 as FIIO Q series

A "fix" for some operating systems is to set your power plan to Performance. That does not help.

Any ideas on how to fix this? It is driving me insane.....

- Why would anyone want to lose wireless charging, with almost every day charging USB socket will be a toast in no time.
- How to control dongle without screen and menu when playing from PC, BTR7 does not allow simultaneous PC playback and control via mobile app.
- High/Low gain is set and forget thing, how often one needs to flip it to warrant separate button.
- Typically forward and next track is bottom button and volume up is top, no?

Try WASAPI Exclusive instead of ASIO, which can be quite finicky at times, plus you don't need to match bitrate in OS for exclusive mode.
