Fiio BTR17

Using the Balanced output, connected to an iPhone 15pro with EQ off and no files playing, electronic "ticking" sound is audible in Right channel using Campfire Audio Solaris 2020. Same IEM with standard 3.5mm cable/output on BTR17 now has ticking audible in left channel when connected to same source with EQ off. Ticking sound is much quieter but can be easily heard when a playing track is paused. CA Solaris 2020 IEM connected via 4.4mm balanced output while BTR17 is in "PC" mode and used as external DAC/AMP: ticking sound still present but much quieter now.
I've come to the conclusion that the well known sensitivity of the CA Solaris 2020 is the weak link here. Hell, the Solaris2020 and the Chord Mojo 2 don't work together either. In any case, my other IEM pairs just fine with the BTR17 and it's my primary anyhow.

When I increase the bass just a few decibels on the Fiio EQ the sound starts to get blown out, I didn't have this problem on the BTR7, I tested it with all the IEMs I have and it happens with both.
Hi,
When you increase the bass, the master gain need to decrease to no more than 0dB. Otherwise, distortion will occur.
Theoretically, BTR7 is the same. Please note that the USB AUDIO of the BTR7 does not support EQ.

I tested it here and it worked well without distortion, but I never had this problem with the BTR7 but it solved the problem. Thank you \,,/

Dear friend,

Hi,
1. It does not have internal memory. Do you need to set via APP in the non Android DAPs? If yes, it is not supported. The FiiO Control APP only has iOS and Android version.
2. It supports PHONE and PC mode switching. If you would like to use the battery of the BTR17 without charging, you could switch to PHONE mode in the BTR17.
3. If your BTR17 is having problem within warranty, please try to contact the seller for help first. If the seller fails to help, please contact support@fiio.com with the receipt attached.

Best regards

I received a blue one this morning, i have to say everything works flawlessly and i love the PEQ 😍
I don't have a banana for scale so here it is with a brick and a tiny dongle, i call it the middle child.

Same as always, yes, but is it 4 times better because it’s 4 times the price of the BTR17 ? Very far from it, the Fiio is very capable and a much better bang for your buck device. That being said we are talking about IEMs i didn’t try headphones with the BTR17 yet, maybe the gap between the 2 devices will be larger.

Hi,
Bypass: When swtiching EQ from Bypass to other EQ, the music will not pause.

OFF: When switching EQ from OFF to other EQ, the music will pause

@FiiO

When using PEQ with USB, why the Frequency response is not the same between USB and BT output?
When using USB, lower frequencies are emphasized vs the expected equalization.

This makes the USB out useless for anyone using the equalization... (which is supposed to be one of the main feature of this device)
