I have my BTR17 connected to my iPhone 14 Promax using a USB to USB C cable and an Apple lightning adapter. Unfortunately sometimes the iPhone doesn’t recognize the BRT17. Anyone else is experiencing this? Thanks.

I have had the BTR17 for a few months now and agree about the battery life - it's bad.I've had the BTR17 for 2 days. LDAC, Low Gain, medium volume, IEM. Battery life about 6 hours. That's not very good. What's worse is the battery indicator. It showed 40% and the device turned off in 15 minutes. That's completely useless. This is exactly what the iFi GO blu does. Every time I start playback, it clicks twice in the left channel. So far, my impressions are rather bad. Even though the sound is very good even via BT.
For my power-hungry Noire X, on high gain, volume at 45-50, the battery lasts about 4 hours.
On features and SQ, it's great. But I'm not sure I could recommend it as a "portable" device given its poor battery life.

Hi, have you switched the working mode of the BTR17 to PHONE MODE? If yes, please try whether other lightning to C cable helps?
Best regards

Hi, did you enable the CHG protection function? And is your BTR17 using the latest firmware version?
If you are convenient, you could fully charge the BTR17 and test the battery life again following this condition:

Audio input | Bluetooth receiving | Bluetooth codec | AAC |
Volume level | 23 level | Gain | High |

Who may have encountered this, the forward and backward buttons only work to switch the equalizer and sound, but they do not switch the track back and forth. I watched everything in the settings, two clicks equalizer, one click forward and backward tracks, but they don't switch. And resetting the settings didn't help. As I understand it, there is no play pause on the BTR17 as on the BTR7?,I figured out the phone because it's old, everything works fine on the new one.

When using the LC3 LE audio codec, you cannot change songs with the physical buttons or play and pause tracks; however, with other codecs like aptX lossless, everything functions normally.
If you push the volume knob used for play and pause of a song, you should consult the manual.

In my seemingly unending string of issues with the BTR17 it is now making random little pops/crackles when listening, using it in PC mode. Would really have expected better.

Dear Fiio, please make an announcement so that the btr17 works fine with phones with Bluetooth 5, I have a redmi note 8, but the btr17 does not switch tracks via Bluetooth and stop play does not work, but the btr7 is fine. And with the poco 4gt phone, his Bluetooth 5.2 btr17 is working well.

Hi, sorry we do not have this Redmi mobile phone for testing currently. You could try to clear pairing and reconnect for check. If the issue remains, it seems to be a compatibility problem.
Best regards

Hello @FiiO
Yesterday I received 2 Fiio BTR17 with almost consecutive serial numbers.
They both have the same problem when connected via bluetooth. If I walk between 4 and 6 steps away from the bluetooth source the audio cuts out.
I tried with different PC's and mobile phones and it always happens the same, between 3 and 5 meters away, with only my body between the BTR17 and the bluetooth source and the audio cuts and eventually it disconnects. If there is a wall in between, even at just 1 meter from the source it also cuts out.
It happens with all the supported codecs, BT LE and classic and with firmware 0.62 and 1.1.
All the devices to which I am connecting are at least BT5, with one being BT5.4.
Is this a problem with these specific units or batch (my dealer received them last friday 04 of april) or is this the normal range of the BT on this device?
I also have a BTR7 and BTR15 and both of them work fine with no problems with the BT connection.
Regards,
Gonzalo.

Just picked up a 17 this week and, coming from a BTR7 I'm incredibly impressed that the sound quality is so much better than the 7. There's simply no question that the 17 runs circles around the 7 in sound quality. In use with a CA Dorado 2020 the BTR17 is enormously entertaining, with much better resolution, power and control. I'm not expecting much in terms of battery life with the 17, but I can at least drop down to the 7 to finish a work shift.
Upon going to my more sensitive Campfire Audio Solaris 2020s, I'm hearing a pronounced ticking sound in the left channel via the balanced output(low gain). It persists when connected via the usb port instead of BT. Swapping cables to the standard 3.5 output the ticking swaps to the right channel and becomes much quieter. What a bummer. I really like this thing. An email is off to Fiio, hopefully they will either fix or replace this unit with one that doesn't have this problem.

Under normal circumstances, the Bluetooth distance is not so bad. Does this also happen with SBC encoding? In addition, the hand fully holding the back of the BTR17 (the antenna is here ) will also have some effect on the distance. Hello @FiiO

We checked it with headphones with similar parameters and no problem was found. We'll also try to get the same headset as yours to check it.Just picked up a 17 this week and, coming from a BTR7 I'm incredibly impressed that the sound quality is so much better than the 7. Please confirm whether there is still a problem with EQ off state? If there is no problem with the shutdown, please check whether the overall gain of the EQ setting is over 0dB?
If it's not related to EQ, you may need to check it with another BTR17 device in your local offline store. If there is no way, please contact our after-sales service.

Using the Balanced output, connected to an iPhone 15pro with EQ off and no files playing, electronic "ticking" sound is audible in Right channel using Campfire Audio Solaris 2020. Same IEM with standard 3.5mm cable/output on BTR17 now has ticking audible in left channel when connected to same source with EQ off. Ticking sound is much quieter but can be easily heard when a playing track is paused. CA Solaris 2020 IEM connected via 4.4mm balanced output while BTR17 is in "PC" mode and used as external DAC/AMP: ticking sound still present but much quieter now.We checked it with headphones with similar parameters and no problem was found. We'll also try to get the same headset as yours to check it.
