Wow, what? What setup? What codec? That's disappointing battery life. I guess ill wait and see.
default LDAC, low gain, Shure aonic 4.
I'm hoping the battery becomes better after a couple of full charge cycles and then a firmware update to solve the constant consumption issue described before (pulling 2.5W regardless what the device is doing) which is probably also affecting the battery.

Cant find any info on Aonic 4 impedance and sensitivity. Yes i hope they fix those battery drain issue. Im on the verge of buying this when it hits the shelf. But now im on the wait and see.

Dear friend,

1. Where did you check the battery level of the BTR15 from? And how long can your BTR15 work from 100->0?
Battery life
about 8 hours (ACC format, high gain,3.5mm headphone out)
about 8 hours (ACC format, high gain,4.4mm headphone out)
2. We failed to understand the 'pulling 2.5W' you mentioned. Do you mean the power consumption is 500mA? How do you check about that.
Please try to clear the pairing and reset your BTR15 then reconnect again for check.
【Clear the pairing information on BTR15】
When it is on, hold both the volume- and volume+ buttons at the same time for about 5s.
【Reset operation】
Hold the Power button for at least 10 seconds to reset it.

Best regards

Thanks. Yea, definitely seems like it on spec. If anyone has any real world experience when they get their hands on one it would be interesting.
My BTR5 old one is paired with my HE400i (2020) planar on balanced out in indoor house uses.
Its good enough for it. but mind you the 2020 is the easier to drive among HE4xx variation (only need 70% power compared to the rest of its sibling apparently)

Hi, as mentioned on https://www.head-fi.org/threads/fii...ssion-impressions-thread.918298/post-17809801 I used a FNIRSI FNB58 USB tester device to measure power consumption.

What is the price of BTR 15 Globally ? Indian Official Importer charging 216 USD.

Per Fiio description, the EQ/PEQ is handled by the QC5125 for BT and the XU316 for USB input. Is it the same EQ profile for both or can they be distinct?
e.g. one EQ profile loaded for desktop use (USB source), a different EQ profile for BT, when moving. Different IEM/HP, or even the same IEM but with two different EQ depending on what you do.

weird power consumption results. pixel 6a -> FNB58 -> BTR15 -> shure aonic 4.

on PHONE mode it takes 0.02W from USB.
on PC mode (PCM) it takes 3W regardless if the battery is fully charged or not, if the 4.4mm jack is connected or not, If on low or high gain, and if it is playing or not. 3W flat
on BT mode (LDAC) takes 2.5W from USB, regardless of conditions (like the PC mode)

PC mode will stop playing if charge mode is enabled on the LCD once it reaches 80% for some reason. the phone still detects the USB audio but no sound comes out.

and the Android app doesn't support so I haven't been able to change the buttons to something less frustrating.

the screen SUCKS, highly pixelated text. they sound great though, and the leather case was included as a gift.

@FiiO could you explain BT and PC mode power consumption not being related to what the device is doing? When will the Android app be updated to support the BTR15?

so the battery needs some "warm-up". after a couple of days of doing full charge/discharge cycles, it started to behave better.

jack detection does work. it pauses the play immediately but it takes a while to turn off the amplifier.

the device only does 5V USB, no PD or QC, so 2.5W is the same as 500mA.

100% doesn't seem to be 100%. once the battery on the display stops blinking and the BT AUDIO says 100% it takes some minutes to go down from 2.5W (0.5A) to 1.3W (0.25A), 1W (0.18A) and eventually 0.3W (0.07A). reaction to the removal of the 4.4mm jack also takes some minutes finally slashing out those last 0.3W.

the BT AUDIO power indicator doesn't go up while charging at all, you need to reconnect the device to see the updated amount.

I'll remeasure things tomorrow on PC mode after the next full recharge cycle.

The Android version of Fiio Control now supports the BTR15! it does lose connection from time to time, and no firmware upgrade yet.

On the EQ menu there are 3 "Custom" options including "advanced settings" where you can specify gain (-12 to 12) and Q (0.25 to 8) for a particular frequency. the label says 20 to 20k, and the select option offers 32Hz, 64Hz, 125Hz, 250Hz, 500Hz, 1.0kHz, 2.0kHz, 4.0kHz, 8.0kHz, and 16.0kHz. so.... parametric eq?

Regarding the battery, you may have demonstrated that the BTR15 has a “battery gauge” chip: those chips need a few charge/discharge cycles to “learn” the charge/discharge curves of the battery and estimate the %charge correctly.

And whether the EQ deserves the “Parametric” status… It’s all about definitions. To me, it is PEQ, even if it’s not a full-fledged one.

Dear friend,

So does the problem with the battery remain? Thanks in advance!
