this is my first dedicated headphone amp...also my first dac/headphone amp.

It sounds just fine, but...A/Bing, I could not differentiate it from my MacBook Pro's headphone jack using Sennheiser SR-125's and Etymotic ER-4's.

I suppose I have two questions:

1) Am I doing something wrong?
2) Anyone want to trade for a Denon phono cart :)

what software and source? did you use MBP>TOSLINK>fiio? I suggest you look for answers in the fiio e7 thread

iTunes/MacBook Pro. MBP USB Out > FiiO USB in. Does this even have a toslink input?

just testing this out to make sure i'm not crazy:

I take back indistinguishable. The FiiO does sound a tad more at ease, but they are are more similar than different.

ok. this is embarrassing. i think i spent the first few days with too much rock. this jazz morning is actually showing the differences. horns are less strident and sibilant. bass is a bit tighter and rounder.

i hope you've my naked thoughts this morning :)
