FIIO’s innovative sub brand, SNOWSKY Pure Music Player ECHO MINI Is Officially Released!

I got this little player to hopeless replace my dongles, and having a Fiio M3K before, I kinda knew what I was gonna have to deal with.
Fortunately, the echo mini sounds better and is nicer to look at.
The biggest issue I have so far is sorting my library. The player can't sort anything in the Playlist section, messes up tags and moves music to Unknown, even though my music is all tagged the same way. Going through the SD card itself is also a mess, because it sorts the folders by last modified date, and folders inside folders the same way. Not alphabetical, which is what I need. Example, I sorted Artist>Album (renamed the folder starting with year, then name). Also, any album with 10 or more tracks is a disaster, with the alphabetical sorting making track 10 before track 2, which I realize is just gonna happen, but still.
I am glad Fiio is working on firmwares often, and I hope the sorting gets taken care of, because I like this player so far.
Exactly my experience! Please work on this for a future update @FiiO Kang. This player has so much potential!

I'm really loving my device and all the updates/bug fixes that you all are doing! Am I missing a setting or is the cassette playing animation going the wrong direction?

I noticed that as well. It is definitely going in the wrong direction! I suppose it could be an auto reverse deck playing in the reverse direction!
I prefer the album cover display in the latest version so it isn't an issue for me!

I actually owned that Walkman in the image and it didn’t have auto reverse. But a good explanation nevertheless.

Hey Fiio.

I'm wondering if you will be getting any more blue colour versions of the echo mini anytime soon on your aliexpress store? Or should I just buy a black version as they seem to be running low and I want one ASAP.

I don't know why most of my FLAC file said file format error and cannot playback. My FLAC files seems normal in other music player (I use Samsung EVO plus 256GB) btw I've updated to lastest version 1.4.0
Have you seen previous posts #214 and #216?
Putting your files on the internal storage may be worth a try.
I have some ALAC files that play on other players but not the Echo Mini. Using internal storage didn't fix that issue for me sadly.

Just got the Echo Mini and am enjoying the sound from this small inexpensive device.
I have the Sony A306 which it seems to mimic at 60% of the size and somehow it sounds better than my similar sized Hiby R2.
Tried the Truthear Hexa, Ollo Audio S4, 7Hz Timeless in 3.5 unbal
Still need to try the 4 bal

If the 15hr playback time holds true, this will definitely replace my Sony Walkman NW-A55 and A306 for traveling as it sounds way better than all the other small portable MP3 players I have been using for travel purposes and doesn't have a proprietary charging connector. A replaceable AAA or AA battery would have made it even more a travel winner but we all have to carry USB chargers for our phones anyway these days.

I'm going to be putting the echo mini to the side until a firmware update. After messing with songs and looking at posts on reddit of other people having issues, somehow the echo sorts by file uploaded time. Now I understand why my songs are in the order they ended up. That needs a change. I tried using the Playlist section and the UI's sorting and most of my albums had the last song first, which also doesn't make sense. Frustrating.
Something I didn't mention, lack of gapless playback hurts a lot, but the cutting of the first half a second of every song is worse. I know it's been brought up before, and I'm hoping it comes. If anything, I want gapless more than the sorting.

I have provided @FiiO Kang with a track that is clipped at the start and he has acknowledged receiving it.
I find this clipping the most annoying thing as well.
I will be happy to work with him in testing firmwares to get around this problem.
Fingers crossed it can be resolved. It really needs to be.

If you dislike it for so many reasons, why not return it.
