I saw that a few here have some experience with the Omega Lupi by Fezz Audio, but there is no dedicated thread yet, so here we go :)

Is anyone able to write a little bit more about it?

As far as I know the Omega Lupi in the Evolution series (https://fezzaudio.com/en/produkt/fezz-omega-lupi-evolution/) as well as the Omega Lupi Legacy version (https://fezzaudio.com/en/produkt/fezz-audio-omega-lupi-2/) are technically identical, it is just the look that is different. Which I absolutely love in the evolution series.

It does not really have a lot of features, for example it is missing a balanced output. The reason I am still interested in though is that I am planning to buy a completely new setup, including an integrated amp for speakers as well as a phono pre-amp and I would like to get everything from one brand. Which would be possible using Fezz Audio.

Just got the Omega Lupi today…. Heating the tubes as I type in preparation for the initial listen. I will leave feedback when I have a little time.

Is this what you picked up in lieu of the BB?

Yes The music room was having a blow out and sold it for way too cheap. Couldn't help myself since I had a Fezz integrated a while back and it was really really good.

👍
Looking forward to your impressions. I did see this on TMR as well and am a bit intrigued

Yeah I'll get some impressions out in the next week or so. Busy is time of the year for me at work so it's a little bit hard for me to get as much listening in as I'd like to at the moment

Hey @Strayngs, any impressions for us? :)
Yes sorry my friends….crazy at work but I have had some good moments with it. Keep in mind that the Omega Lupi (OL from here on out) is the only tube amp I have on hand. I just recently sold my ampsandsound Bigger Ben Rev 2, but I never had them together and so the only comparison I have on hand is a couple transportable devices in the Xduoo XD05 Pro and the A & K acro ca1000t. I also have a AVM A5.2 speaker amp with a zensonix speaker amp to headphone amp adapter (with bypass) which is very capable.

First of all the OL is very powerful. Not as powerful as the Bigger Ben….but that is why I was willing to move on from the Bigger Ben as I didnt need that much power. Yet, I have a lot of power. It drives both my D8000 Pro and Rognir with authority and lots of headroom. I like to play around with the impedance knob to hear the difference (very noticeable change in each setting) but I usually find myself listening in the low impedance setting. I do not notice any noise or background hum with either of these headphones. I do have a much more efficient Kennerton Gjallarhorn JM that does suffer some background white noise until the music starts. It is unnoticed when music is playing though. I had the same noise in the bigger Ben with both of my Planars. Just so much power.

The sound is really good. It adds air to the mix but it isn’t the warmest tubey slow sound. The imaging, separation and soundstage is enhanced. That is what you are getting with the Fezz as The sound isn’t very colored at all in fact with the stock tubes…the sound is pretty fast. I do compare it favorably to the sound that I loved from the Trafomatic Head 2. I would describe it as solid state nuetral tuning with the added tube air…. I dont think that it really adds much coloring beyond that. As for a straight tube amp….it is pretty neutral. I would like to find some different flavors in tube rolling….but so far… I havent found a lot of options with matched quads of PCL86. I know this sound description might not be the most detailed….but I dont think it adds much more than what I described. I love having a remote for it and having a tube cage makes me less nervous for my 3 year olds fingers….whether I can keep those fingers from turning the knobs is something I still have to watch like a hawk though LOL.

I think the tube portion of my acro CA1000T is pretty much a gimmick as there isn’t any comparison in sound between these two devices. The Fezz is completely in control and feels powerful with the describes characteristics. the CA1000T sounds a little flat and less exciting. I really like the flexibility of bringing the CA1000T anywhere around the home but it is not anywhere in the same class as my main rig which the Fezz has found a home in. The Xduoo is my newest and I have enjoyed it a lot. I think I prefer it just a bit to the CA1000T. It is less versatile though. But neither of these powerful “portable” devices have the air and power and control over the 2 planars that the Fezz has in spades.

My AVM is a really cool amp that with the added zynsonix …. Can power virtually any planar or dynamic headphone ever created. It also has a 12db attenuated output and so I can use this with all my headphones. It does not have the air that the Fezz showcases but the power and control is there. The mids are brought more to the forefront of the mix and the separation of the mix is not as good. The AVM/zynsonix is very neutral. If anyone has a good speaker amp…I highly recommend one of the zynsonix devices as it makes a quite capable headphone amp.

I am a big fan of this type of tube sound….my prefered music is alternative with some Jazz and vocals mixed in here and there. I dont want a sound that is too syrupy and slowed down. I love the tube added air though. I found this amp nearly half price brand new at TMR and I cannot be more happy with my purchase. Even at the full $2200 it is no slouch.

Thank you for the impressions, @Strayngs! That matches pretty well what I heard also about other Fezz amps so far. Rather modern and neutral sounding than very tubey.

I was looking into getting a complete system (amplifier-wise) by Fezz Audio. One reason was that their phono pre-amps have a voltage switch which would be very practical for me as I will be moving from Europe to the US. Fezz confirmed that they would integrate a voltage switch also into the other amps for me and asked me to clarify everything with the german distributor. I contacted him but did not really get any information from him, he didn't even reply to my last email. I was also in contact with two Fezz dealers in my hometown who both said they would get back to me, but also never heard back from them. Utterly disappointing. I absolutely love the look of the evolution series and I think I would also like them sound-wise, but I really don't want to deal with something like that if I am willing to spend almost 10k for 3 amps…

Yeah I don't blame you. I did have some success with communication with them via Facebook. I also had a Libra 300b integrated which is why I was so interested in the headphone amp. My main problem with them is that they didn't put any of the upgrades as standard available equipment. You had to wait for months just to have something simple as a pre-out for a sub.

Hi, I'm new to the tube game and I wonder if the Omega lupi can perform like TOTL tube amps?

I have a question. Can I use 110v-120v version at the 220v country? Is it okay to do that?
